Manuel De Zumaya
secundum magnum misericordiam tuam.
Et secundum multitudinem miserationum
tuarum: dele iniquitatem meam.
Amplius lava me ab iniquitate mea:
et a peccato meo munda me.
Quoniam iniquitatem meam ego cognosco:
et peccatum meum contra me est semper.
Tibi soli peccavi et malum coram te feci:
ut justificeris in sermonibus tuis,
et vincas cum judicaris.
Ecce enim iniquitatibus conceptus sum:
et in peccatis concepit me mater mea
Ecce enim veritatem dilexisti:
incerta et occulta sapientiae
tuae manifestasti mihi.
Asperges me hyssopo et mundabor:
lavabis me et super nivem dealbabor
Auditui meo dabis gaudium et laetitiam:
et exsultabunt ossa humiliata.
Averte faciem tuam a peccatis meis:
et omnes iniquitates meas dele.
Cor mundum crea in me, Deus:
et spiritum rectum innova in visceribus meis.
Ne proicias me a facie tua:
et spiritum sanctum tuum ne auferas a me.
Redde mihi laetitiam salutaris tui:
et spiritu principali confirma me.
Docebo iniquos vias tuas:
et impii ad te convertentur.
Libera me de sanguinibus, Deus, Deus salutis
meae: et exsultabit lingua mea justitiam tuam
Domine labia mea aperies:
et os meum annuntiabit laudem tuam.
Quoniam si voulisses sacrificum, dedissem
utique: holocaustis non delectaberis.
Sacrificium Deo spiritus contribulatus:
cor contritum et humilitateum
Deus non despicies
Benigne fac, Domine, in bona voluntate tua
Sion: ut aedificentur muri Jerusalem.
Tunc acceptabis sacrificium justitiae:
oblationes et holocausta.
Tunc imponent super altare tuum vitulos.
in your goodness.
And according to the multitude of your mercies, blot out my iniquity.
Thoroughly wash my guilt from me,
and of my sin cleanse me.
For I acknowledge my transgression,
and my sin is ever before me.
Against you only have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, that you may be justified in your sentence, vindicated when you condemn.
For behold, I was conceived in iniquities,
and in my sins my mother conceived me.
Behold, you are pleased with sincerity of heart, and in my inmost being you teach me wisdom.
You will sprinkle me, O Lord, with hyssop, and I shall be cleansed; you will wash me, and I shall be made whiter than snow.
Let me hear the sounds of joy and gladness;
the bones you have crushed shall rejoice.
Turn your face away from all my sins;
and blot out all my iniquities.
A clean heart create for me, O God,
and a steadfast spirit renew in me.
Cast me not away from your countenance,
and take not your holy spirit from me.
Give me back the joy of your salvation,
and a willing spirit sustain in me.
I will teach transgressors your ways,
and the wicked shall be converted unto you.
Free me from my blood guilt, O God, my saving God: then my tongue shall revel in your justice.
O Lord, you will open my lips,
and my mouth shall proclaim your praise.
For you are not pleased with sacrifices: should I offer a holocaust you would not accept it.
A sacrifice to God is a broken spirit:
a humble and contrite heart, O God,
you will not despise.
Be bountiful, O Lord, to Sion in your kindness
by rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem.
Then you will accept the sacrifice of righteous-ness, the oblations and the burnt offerings.
Then shall they offer up bullocks on your altar.
