R: Eram quasi agnus innocens: ductus sum ad immolandum, et nesciebam: Consilium fecerunt inimici mei adversum me, dicentes: Venite, mittamus lignum in panem ejus, et eradamus eum de terra viventium.

V: Omnes inimici mei: adversum me cogitabant mala mihi: verbum iniquum mandaverunt adversum me, dicentes: Venite, mittamus lignum in panem ejus, et eradamus eum de terra viventium.

I was like an innocent lamb; I was led to be sacrificed and I did not know [it]. My enemies took counsel against me, saying: Come, let us put wood in his bread, and let us eradicate him out of the land of the living.

All my enemies have thought evil against me; they have commanded a wicked word against me, saying: Come, let us put wood in his bread and eradicate him out of the land of the living.

R: Una hora non potuistis vigilare mecum, qui exhortabamini mori pro me? Vel Judam non videtis, quomodo non dormit, sed festinat tradere me Judæis?

V: Quid dormitis? Surgite, et orate, ne intretis in tentationem.

Could you not keep vigil with me for one hour, you who exhorted yourselves to die for me? Or do you not see Judas, how he does not sleep, but hurries to betray me to the Jews?

Why are you sleeping? Rise and pray so that you may not enter into temptation.

R: Seniores populi consilium fecerunt, Ut Jesum dolo tenerent, et occiderent: cum gladiis et fustibus exierunt tamquam ad latronem.

V: Collegerunt pontifices et pharisaei concilium.

The elders of the people have taken counsel in order to take hold of Jesus by deceit and to kill him. With swords and clubs (sticks) they have come out as if to a robber.

The [high] priests and the Pharisees have gathered together to take hold of Jesus by deceit.
